Documentation Based Care
Documentation Based Care (DBC)
Documentation Based Care (DBC) is a medical protocol company registered in Finland delivering a combination of technology and care. Its treatment programs follow the principle of functional restoration, producing good results in reducing work absenteeism, as was noted in a recent Cochrane review. Systematic reviews of medical studies have shown this is the most effective approach in reducing pain and sick days for individuals with chronic back pain.
The DBC method enhances benefits in the functional restoration approach. Exercises used in the DBC programs are carefully designed to focus impact on the most important musculoskeletal system areas. We individually tailor exercises for each patient to ensure maximum safety, benefit and comfort.
The DBC method uses the skills of doctors and spine specialized therapists, each holding special training to understand the exact target and function of each exercise and how it's carried out. DBC devices correct movement patterns so they come naturally to each patient.
SpineOne is proud to be the first and only DBC facility in California. We've partnered with DBC, propelling our dedication and commitment to evidence-based medicine, helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes. DBC is currently available in 22 countries in more than 100 facilities, treating more than 30,000 patients to date. DBC worldwide results are consistent with reliable and sustainable outcomes.
DBC results are impressive. In DBC functional restoration programs, exercises performed on FDA-approved medical rehabilitation devices are directed toward specific deficits of the ailing musculoskeletal system. Patients realize reduced pain and disability, improved function and control using a cognitive-behavioral approach. DBC studies published in leading peer-reviewed journals demonstrate that 83 percent of back patients experience significant pain relief and 75 percent show strength and mobility increase. A study demonstrated that patients completing the DBC program and continuing to exercise maintained results and had significantly reduced work absenteeism two years after DBC program completion. DBC and SpineOne are leading the way in evidenced-based spine care and active rehabilitation.
